Speedo Vision

I have been thinking about changing the Driving School car, so off to the car supermarket to see what’s on offer. With a few criteria in mind after doing some numbers and research on running costs, I had decided that it had to be another diesel. Although they tend to be more expensive to buy over the period of time I am going to keep it the fuel economy pays off, not to mention the small fact that teaching my pupils to change to a petrol car does cause a few problems.

Looking at the usual training vehicles from Ford, Peugeot, Vauxhall and Renault all of which would be ideal apart from one aspect, you can’t see the speedo from the passenger seat. It is obviously vital for an instructor or examiner to have a clear view of this without leaning all over the pupil. I know this is a small point and I am sure that it is of no relevance to the car manufactures when designing the dashboard layout but it is a very important point for a driving instructor. I guess I will have to purchase a GPS speed projection device with the new car
